In its fourth hearing to the case, the Ramallah Magistrate Court acquitted today, November 6th, 2014, four BDS activists from charges of “provoking riots and breach of public tranquility.”
The four activists,Zaid Shuaibi, Fajr Harb, Fadi Quran and Abd al-Fatah Hamayel, were arrested violently by PA security forces while protesting a dance performance at the Al-Kasaba Theatre in Ramallah, last April.
The four along with others, called for the cancellation of the performance, after the same dance group performed previously in Tel-Aviv as part of the same program, in violation of BDS guidelines. Read more about the case here
Court decision today is a small victory over BDS violators and their defenders. However, it should not cover up the Palestinian Authority’s shameful practices and political prosecution against Palestinian activists.
